BSVS has been formed for the welfare of Saiva Velalars residing in Bengaluru. We welcome families of Saiva Velalar community residing in Bengaluru to become members of BSVS. So far we have conducted eight meetings and two short trips over the past five years. Every year one Annual General Body Meeting is conducted in December and one mid year tour is being conducted by BSVS. Thevaram/ Thiruvasagam classes have been conducted in 2017 and 2018.
We have a Marriage Information Bureau which contains more than 300 bio data details of boys and girls. We are doing this service free of cost for the benefit of our community people. So far about 85 boys/girls who had registered with us have got married as of 6th January 2022.
We have helped 30 needy students of our community to pursue their higher education by sending them a scholarship of Rs. 5000/- each per year until they complete the study. This initiative has been commenced from 2021. This year -from 30th July 2022 we have started to send the cheques towards scholarship for higher education to needy students of our community. So far 12 students have received and process of sending cheques other deserving candidates is on going.
